  • Great concept, well-executed; genuinely fun; feels like you're really managing a rock 'n' roll band, sans the sex and drugs.

  • The game is rather endearing and is entertaining for both a quick-play session and those marathon times when you keep playing for "just one more gig."

  • A comprehensive simulation, Shady O'Grady's Rising Star is a remarkable title that will appeal to anyone interested in forming their own band without the need for musical talent.

  • The foundation for "Rising Star" is solid. Text management gamers will appreciate the game's numbers game of practicing and earning skills to get to the next level. "Rising Star" has the potential to become a must-play game.

  • I've played the demo for a few weeks, and then the other day I purchased the full game. Sleep has become a myth as my band (The Little FURY Bugs, folk sensations from SLC) has tried to hit it big.

  • Todd, this damn game is a blast. I played all night last night and found myself at the computer this morning. Here I am playing again and probably will for the rest of the day. VERY addicting

  • Rising Star reminds me of a lot of other open-ended PC games I've loved, Star Control 2, Darklands, Roadwar 2000, Space Rangers, it has that one-more-turn quality. And as a guy who was in a half dozen metal and goth bands in high school and college, this damn game makes me want to go start up another band. ^_^ HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION

  • I'm 36 and have played in hard rock/metal bands, and I can say I've been waiting for this game for 20 years.

  • I've been a rock fan for nearly 38 years ... I'll now go on record with this initial impression: Rising Star is the game about this biz I've always wanted to play. I'm *really* enjoying this game a ton.

  • Man, I had a time when everyone completely hated my character in the band. I couldn't write song or anything with him. Now, everyone hates my bassist. So, it's all good now. Man, I love this game.
